THE LLOYD ELLINGSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Lloyd Ellingson was a long-term employee of our firm and our first employee who traveled to support the Alaska Fire Service. He was instrumental in many different ways in securing our future in the Pacific Northwest.

This scholarship is funded by CURTIS in conjunction with the Alaska Fire Chiefs Association to award a current rural Alaska Fire Chief to attend the annual Alaska Fire Chiefs Leadership Summit. Qualified candidates are proposed and selected by the Alaska Fire Chiefs Association.

Contact the Alaska Fire Chiefs Association for further details or to be considered for this scholarship.

THE JAY L. CURTIS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Jay Curtis (son of L.N. Curtis) was one of the founding fathers of the Idaho State Fire School and was always a strong supporter of firefighter training in Idaho. He was very instrumental in organizing the first Fire School in Twin Falls in 1947. Jay spent many years participating as a vendor, instructor, and sponsoring various events at the school. Jay passed away in 1988; prior to that, Jay never missed the annual State Fire School.

To continue Jay's legacy, L.N. Curtis & sons created the Jay L. Curtis Fellowship Program which is a unique opportunity to partner with the Idaho Fire Chiefs Association and provide firefighters from smaller Idaho volunteer fire departments that may have limited funds available an opportunity to attend training. Individuals are selected by the Idaho Fire Chiefs Association.

Contact the Idaho Fire Chiefs Association for further details or to be considered for this scholarship.

CURTIS FAMILY NEW MEXICO SCHOLARSHIP

Paul Curtis' step mom, Lula Belle Currant Walker Curtis, was born in New Mexico and raised in White Oaks, New Mexico. She raised Paul and his siblings from the time Paul was 3 due to the death of his mother in a motor vehicle accident which was caused by a DUI operator of another vehicle. The youngest of 12 children born to ranchers, the family epitomized hard work, ruggedness, independence, grit and determination. White Oaks might be considered a ghost town (located in Lincoln County), but the connection to the Curtis Family is still alive.

This scholarship, in conjunction with the New Mexico Fire Chiefs Association, is intended to support a member of the New Mexico Fire Service (City, County, Paid or Volunteer) in training and associated costs.

Contact the New Mexico Fire Chiefs Association for further details or complete an application.
