Hiding Behind the Fire
After serving in the middle east and being awarded the Purple Heart and the Silver Star, Marine Corporal Jude Parker, grows weary of the lives taken before his eyes. After leaving the military he becomes a Hotshot Crew Superintendent for the Southern Region Hotshots.
What started out as a routine fire season turns out to be anything but, when Jude finds himself and his team of young firefighters embroiled in a string of murders during five raging California wildfires. While battling the ferocious flames and heavy smoke, he and his crew unknowingly stumble across the mutilated victims and are almost burned alive by the same killer.
Forced to take refuge in their emergency fire shelters, the Southern Region Desert Dogs suffer dramatic losses when they’re trapped during a burn over with nowhere to escape. As the body count of dead firefighters begins to grow the FBI assigns retired SEAL Team member and current FBI Special Agent, Mike Greer to the case.
Greer too, is feeling the heat after he puts down a knife wielding serial killer in a contentious shooting. Eager to diffuse the controversy the Bureau sends Greer to California, where he teams up with Jude Parker to uncover the invisible killer hiding behind the fire. Both ex-warriors teach each other a thing or two about their respective professions.
