MSA Cairns 1836 Fire Helmet
Introducing the ICONIC + INNOVATIVE MSA Cairns 1836 Fire Helmet
The Cairns 1836 Fire Helmet features the iconic traditional design that firefighters love with innovative features that address today’s fire service needs. It’s lightweight and has a low ride height for comfort. It’s quick and easy to disassemble and assemble for cleanability. And it’s RFID-enabled for efficient asset management.
CUSTOMIZABLE FIT & COMFORT
The Cairns 1836 Fire Helmet is lightweight with a low ride height and offers several other customizable comfort features. The expanded and pivoting ratchet system allows adjustment for head size (fitting 95% of firefighters), head shape, and fit with the facepiece and hood.
EASY TO CLEAN
The Cairns 1836 Fire Helmet is designed for quick and easy disassembly and assembly without specific tools for thorough inspection, care, and maintenance. Plus, the helmet’s chinstrap and soft goods are removable, washable, and replaceable. These features have all been engineered to help firefighters align with NFPA 1851 guidelines.
ARTICULATING DEFENDER® VISOR
The newly designed Defender Visor adjusts in and out to fit a range of face sizes and shapes or over eyewear. It stows neatly and securely inside the helmet and is easy to deploy with a gloved hand.
SHELL RELEASE SYSTEM
The MSA Cairns Shell Release System (SRS) protects from impact and heat – even when your helmet is dislodged from your head. With the SRS, if your helmet comes off due to extenuating circumstances – such as a fall through a floor or roof – the impact cap is designed to separate from the helmet shell but remain on your head.
